UC San Diego Student Television Station Airs PORN

The San Diego Union Tribune is reporting that:

"The broadcast of pornography on a student-run television station at UC San Diego may be short-lived.

Just three days after the broadcast of sex between a UCSD senior and an adult actress, student council members debated whether to temporarily ban the "graphic depiction of sexual activity" on the Student-Run Television station." FULL STORY

In retaliation for the University's threatening of the UCSD's Student Run Television station with content regulation and in celebration of Freedom of Speech Week the kids produced and aired a student-made pornographic film.

I say good for them for standing up for their freedom of speech and sending a nice up-yours to the system. For more info on your first amendment rights and how you can help someone who the system is trying to fuck please visit: http://www.freechris.org/

Yes, they can in fact choose to not air that. The First Amendment does not protect against obscene, vulgar material. Since the University's television system is a private system, they can also ban it there.
However, Kudos to the guy who made the video.

They could have made a bolder statement by picking a chick with bigger tits.

"The First Amendment does not protect against obscene, vulgar material."

Bullshit, have you ever even read it? It protects any and all forms of expression.
"Congress shall make no law... abridging the freedom of speech..."
There is no "Unless it's deemed vulgar or obscene by anyone" clause in there. Read the Bill of Rights, then comment. Nice try, though.

Actually you're mistaken. The Supreme Court has interpreted the Constitution so that freedom of speech does not extend to obscene material. The problem is the Court has never defined obscenity. One judge went as far as to say something to the effect of "I can't define it but I know when I see it..." Hows that for a precise decision by the Supreme Court....

Or to KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) You have no Fucking Idea what Your taLkiNg about...
